I heard this was a den of snakes

What does that mean?

That said, Hi! all.
I've been working on sinless a while, and maybe you're in the mood for a random cyberpunk operation?

sinlessrpg.com

Random operation generator is live. Billionaire Bounty ARC are going out, uh, probably next week? Exciting times.

Some Guy who wrote some Carin who was harassed off a platform and apologized to those who did it.
he posted a video of a review of his own product, and one time the reviewer took an ad that they later removed, and because of that the reviewer is now tainted forever, and so in the apology he specifically calls this place as being a den of snakes.

I'm a monkey so if this place is full of snakes I'm in trouble.

I am no wiser than when I asked. But since our history is all here for the world to see, you can judge for yourself.

I have SO many questions right now...
I was just teasing. I (obviously) do not think this is a den of snakes.
has the answers. Just FYI.

Drama is dumb, and it just reminded me to say hi!

Probably talking about the blog comment sections.

If this is a den of snakes, then I guess its been hibernation season for a while now.

Ya, agreed...probably referring to the blog comment section.
Also agreed...drama is dumb.

I mean, they did specifically refer to the "forums", and they obviously are online enough to know what that means. But their handle, "yochaigal," doesn't come up as a user, or even a wordsearch.

But the whole post is weird. Like, I'm also an early Bluesky adopter, and what they are describing is something I have only seen once, and only worked because the target was brand new and didn't know the way Bluesky moderation works.

And, "den of snakes" kind of implies some sort of duplicity or backstabbing. Generally when people argue here they are pretty up front about it. I just don't get it.

IOW, I'm still no wiser than before I asked the question.

I am still under the assumption they meant the comment section, not the forum.

Being "obviously online enough" is not sufficient evidence for me to dismiss the possibility of them being mistaken (particularly as the internet is far from being a "mistake-free" place). Most indicting is the "den of snakes" comment, that lack of their own username in our roster, and the various attestations by our own kind that there is no real drama to be found here - leads me to believe they actually meant the very public, generally vitriolic comment section instead.

All told though, I don't particular care what someone trying to shepherd in a "New School Revolution" thinks about anything. But that's just me...

I mean, a snake den might be a lively addition to the forums. I dunno
As for the Hack & Slash articles at the root of this; there seems to be an acrimonious 50/50 split here. By all means, the "5e. Why you all suck" thread seems to be where we all go at it roughly twice/year. For once, this seems to be a subject enjoying support on both sides of the aisle. By all means, throw it in there and see who gets angry...

1) Which H&S article are you talking about?

2) The only drama I've seen since my return from a 2-year absence was during squeen's coming out MAGA party (and I freely admit my part in that drama with zero shame). If anyone wants to point me to some, I do enjoy a good read...

3) Are you talking about *my* 5e thread? i.e. "Why you think 5e sucks and why you're wrong"? That thread hasn't discussed anything 5e in years. People just keep co-opting it to dump their off-topic stuff. I think at last glance, the topic at hand was AI, of all things. Some drama, sure, but hardly "den of snakes"... more like "anywhere on internet".

No shit, I remember this now. That was a lot of hate for a No Regerts. @Malrex, I couldn't find mention of you in any of the links (at least one was dead). Did they single you out?
Nah. I'm not that well known. I just looked up Yochai because the name sounded familiar to me and found that review. Makes sense for his comment for the comment section--BUT not for us on the actual forums. We are just a Den of Tough Love.

yeah, I think- you know how certain people are. Obviously you *read* the product, which taints you, but to talk about the project that is taboo makes you *infected*.
It's a wild take.

Everything is fine here, or I wouldn't show up suspiciously only when I have a kickstarter.
(In my defense, I think my stuff is pretty good.)

really, it just made me think of you guys over here, so I came over to shoot the shit, *without* having anything to sell.

First, the reason this place is worth a shit, is the fact that Bryce just reviews anything through the lens of what's useful to him personally and doesn't care about anything else. The people having meltdowns about this are wild.
As someone who has had a literal squad of people running around spreading false rumors about me, this shit is bonkers. Pathological. Purity tests *never* function. Nobody is pure.
You were born naked, covered in your mother's blood!
wild times.
