8, 8, I forget what is for
I'm going to be a total ass and say you should consider another title. It's clunky and not particularly enticing. Also, I don't love the cover art --- too "air brushy"?
Welcome back, buddy. Not an ass; it's a fair critique. My artist friend sent me a sketch more than a month ago, and I haven't heard from him since.
I guess I am a little protective of the cover art in that I did spend a couple of days modeling the jellyfish and landscape in 3D, messing with the lighting, screwing around with the borealis fx, and then massaging the composition in a photo editor to get a slightly more painterly effect than the raw rendered image. But yeah, it needs trees, which eat memory like a mother and are frankly, an utter bastard to distribute across a large landscape. But hey, it's the crappy human-made art everyone's been yearning for amirite?
As for the title. Ech. It was inspired by the contest that inspired all the other contests. It's clunky and weird, but so is my adventure.
I have removed the Adventure Design moniker at the top, cool as it was, I didn't want guilt by association to rub off on our host, and alternatives looked too much like a ripoff of Adventures Dark & Deep. I kept my internet handle, which I'm still not really sure is the right thing to do and am unclear how far-reaching the consequences of that decision are. I killed the ISBN, fun as it was, and changed the back cover blurb to something less glib. I'll wait a little longer for the cover, but I'm not holding my breath. And for all my pro-AI talk, I find myself balking at an AI cover.
